France, Finland & EU: Bilateral Relations in the European Union / Eurooppa-verkosto

Kokoomusnuoret

In conversations about the European Union, two perspectives are often highlighted: on one side national interests, and on the other shared European goals. Less attention is given to the bilateral relations inside the EU, and how they shape the course of the union’s future. Understanding how the individual Member States interact with each other can help us to see past the ambiguity of national and European interests.

On the surface level, France and Finland may seem widely different in their history, culture, and EU policies. In this panel discussion, we will find out whether this is the case or if there is more than meets the eye.

Join us on Thursday, October 27th to learn about Franco-Finnish diplomacy with H.E. Ms. Agnès Cukierman, Ambassador of France to Finland, Elina Valtonen, Member of the Finnish Parliament and Vice President of the National Coalition Party, and Henri Vanhanen, Foreign Policy Adviser of the National Coalition Party.

The event is held on October 27th at 18.00 and the place is the Snellman-cabinet of Botta (Museokatu 10, 00100 Helsinki).
